No Coal Seam Gas Rally

Seems that dollars signs are all that some people can see!

On Sunday 18 September, 2011, reportedly around 2,000 people stopped the traffic in Newtown, Sydney. They were protesting against the proposed Coal Seam Gas mine in the nearby Sydney suburb of St Peters.

In November 2010 the residents of St Peters, an inner city suburb of Sydney, were alerted to the fact that the NSW government had granted an exploration licence to drill for Coal Seam Gas (CSG) close to homes and schools in St Peters. The licence had been granted with no community consultation and insufficient risk assessment.

This could so easily happen to you if we all do nothing!

Below is a slideshow of some of the sights we saw!
