Michael Salvatico

Michael_SalvaticoMy passion for writing and speaking comes from many years in financial research where I was the Head of Emerging Markets Quantitative Strategy with Merrill Lynch.  That gave me a head start in understanding the workings of Emission Trading Schemes (ETS), an area in which I now specialise.

I am fortunate enough to have enjoyed three careers in my working life, accounting, IT and finance. But I am most passionate about my current career – Climate Change.  How many of us get to call our job our passion?

In my role as a director of Climakind I educate people and organisations on helping stop damaging climate change.  Climakind provides individuals and organisations with a way to directly and immediately reduce carbon emissions. Climakind.com is all about managing, monitoring, comparing and promoting your emission reduction efforts.

Nowadays, most of my time is spent writing and speaking to groups about climate change and the role of the ETS in reducing carbon emissions.  I enjoy speaking and presenting most, whether to small or large groups, global business leaders or junior schools. The recent events I have spoken at include the McCrindle Future Forum. I like to get involved.  Taking on the challenge of climate change, I participate in many different environmental roles and climate action groups.  These include the Willoughby Council Sustainability Reference Group, Climate Action North Sydney group, the St.Mary’s Environment Group, and writing news items for Green Times!

I received a Master of Applied Finance and Investment from the Securities Institute of Australia, a Bachelor of Commerce with Merit from the University of New South Wales, and I am a Microsoft Certified Solutions Developer.
