Ecogrow Environment uses CSIRO technology to biologically control insect pests using Entomopathogenic Nematodes.
These Nematodes are naturally occurring organisms that are massed reared by Ecogrow, and available to all levels of users, from households to commercial organisations.
They can be used to control:
• Fungus Gnats (Sciarid Fly)
• Lawn Grubs (African Black Beetle, Argentine Scarab)
• Black Vine Weevil
• Fleas
• Termites
• Some Caterpillars.
This product is easy to use. All you need to do is apply the Nematodes to the problem area, and following carbon dioxide emissions from the targeted pest, the Nematodes actively seek out the pest larvae, invade and kill it by releasing bacteria They then breed within the dead target to continue the pest control cycle.
By killing the larvae before they do damage to plants or lawn, they are extremely effective as a preventative measure of control.
These nematodes are harmless to children, pets and birds as well as all other non-targeted organisms. And of course they are friendly to the environment.
Nematodes (being a natural organism) do not allow the pest to build up a resistance which is what commonly happens with chemical applications. Apart from being more environmentally desirable, they are also more effective over both short and long term.
