No doubt you have heard of ‘the butterfly effect’, the amazing effect the flapping of butterfly wings can have on the environment at the other side of the world. It’s even been said that the flapping of a butterfly’s wings in Australia could cause (or stop) a tornado in America.

just thinkingSo Copenhagen has ground to a close, with not too much to show for it. Some had wished it to be Hopenhagen; some now call it Flopenhagen. The wash up will no doubt be debated for some time. This article was meant to be a round-up of COP15, but to be honest the only thing that seems to make sense to me at the moment is Eric Sevareid’s Law: “The chief source of problems is solutions”.

one million women eventI looked up, “just how did I find myself in a Grand Ballroom full of women at 7am?”, I wondered. The same thought must have been running through the mind of the gentleman beside me – one of a handful of brave men in the room that morning. The room was a-buzz; there was a subtle undercurrent of empowerment amongst the chatter, a feeling that we women could really make a difference!
