new year green resolutions A new year is starting; it is now time to reflect on the past and set new resolutions. And some of those resolutions have to be green! In our own way, we can all make 2010 a greener year! We asked some of our contributors what their new green resolutions are for this new year, and here is what they said.

"Our Green resolution for 2010 is to continue slowly turning our large lawn (it came with the house) into an organic fruit and vegetable garden. Organic is the best way to go because it limits off site inputs when compared to intensive methods. It also provides the best tasting produce".Joe Purcell

“To use my car less and my feet and bike more!”Nicci Gafen, Miss Organic

“To start my vegetable garden and worm compost in the backyard.”Sam Sample

“To try re-invent the wheel, - 'the green wheel of cooling and heating that is'. Thereby massively reducing the worlds consumption of energy.” Eamon Corless

“I sold my car to reduce my carbon footprint, and I would love to invest in a hybrid.  So my resolution is to make enough money to do this next year.” Lisa Tarry

“We have already begun – We have designed 3 x Different Recycling Bins to be placed in each store. For Clients / Staff to bring in and deposit into the separate bins -  1) CFL’s 2) Ink cartridges 3) Batteries. We will then have them sent off to the correct recyclers.”Sean Cochrane

“Our resolution is to use the car less.  Because we are a family with two young children we have a car that is very safe but not very environmentally friendly.  It is the cause of about 25% of our families emissions.  Using the car less will make a difference to our annual carbon emissions.” Michael Salvatico
