Art dedicated to the Bhopal catastrophe

graffiti

This eco graffiti symbolising eternity was created by British artist Paul “Moose” Curtis and is dedicated to the people who have suffered from poisoning caused in the Bhopal gas tragedy where thousands of people died following a gas and other chemicals leak at a pesticide chemical plant in Bhopal, India (1984).

It took 25 years till the American company got convicted for its unsecure handling of technical problems which lead to the accident. Today it is owned by the pharmaceutical company who help those affected by the leak as toxic substances still pollute the landscape and ground water in the area.

This piece of art was created by removing dirt and fungi from the wall, exposing the clean base.
