The air quality is Sydney is very bad and is only going to get worse if nothing changes. Ozone is a prime component in smog which is caused by the reaction of auto and industrial emissions with sunlight. The rising levels of ozone causes eye, nose and throat irritations and decreases in lung function.

Despite the fact that vehicle emissions have been tightened, the population growth, increased car usage and the popularity of heavier cars are making it very difficult to decrease in emissions.
