Not to be missed this week is Earth Hour! On 27 March at 8.30pm millions of people around the world will be turning their lights off for 1 hour as a call for action on climate change. This great initiative was started in Sydney 3 years ago and has grown to be a global event. Make sure you take part in it this year! 27 March 2010 - Earth Hour, Worldwide
On Earth Hour millions of people around the globe will come together to call for action on climate change by simply turning their lights off for 1h.
Earth Hour started in Sydney in 2007 with about 2.2 million people and 2,100 businesses involved. 2 years later, in 2009, it is estimated that over 100 million people, in over 4000 cities across 88 countries took part in Earth Hour. This ambitious initiative that started here in Australia truly became a global event.
Make sure you mark it in your diary!

30 March 2010 – Green Capital Breakfast Seminar, Sydney
This business seminar ran by the Total Environment Centre (TEC) and its corporate sustainability program Green Capital will help guide you towards practical solutions for your business.
At the event leading business practitioners of energy efficiency, renewable energy and carbon offsetting will share their experience and how they assess the current challenges. As well, a panel of experts will debate the political and policy situation, offer their own perspectives on the future for business and the community, and answer questions from the audience.
Also to be released at the events is Green Capital’s latest issues paper, Doing nothing is NOT an option, and the results of Green Capital’s survey of sustainability professionals.
