In line with the United Nations declaring 2010 International Year of Biodiversity this year’s world environment day’s theme is “Many Species. One Planet. One Future”. It is an opportunity to stress the importance of biodiversity for human well-being, reflect on our achievements to safeguard it and encourage a redoubling of our efforts to reduce the rate of biodiversity loss.

5 June 2010 – Brisbane’s first eco festival
Come and celebrate Logan’s first eco festival in Melbourne where The Spacifix will be performing Live at Griffith University Logan Campus. Along with Spacifix’s performance, this event offers a selection of various activities and shows including a wide range of exhibitors, wildlife, children’s activities and giveaways of organic food.
This festival is free of charge and welcomes everyone to participate in protecting the environment.

5 June 2010 –Sydney goes wild(life)
Join Chris Darwin, the only direct descendant of Charles Darwin, as he invites you to experience World Environment Day and International Year of Biodiversity at the Sydney goes wild(life) cocktail party.
Drinks, canapés, and live entertainment will be provided at the event.

You might be familiar with Nell Scholfield as a star of 1981 film Puberty Blues and TV presenter for Channel Nine. Nell is also vice president of Bondi Girls Surf Riders, a founding member of Stream Water Users, and member of Al Gore’s Climate Change Leadership Project.
For World Environment Day this year, Nell will be in Sydney to present the dangerous effects of climate change and discuss the solutions to this issue.
Celebrate World Environment Day in an afternoon of fun! This event presents free activities including bush tucker trail, meeting a bandicoot, planting indigenous plants and many more!
